In Beaune, it would be easy to start with the appellations, the grands crus, and the labels everyone dreams of finding. We prefer to start with the people. As Frédéric Henry liked to say, “You don’t drink a terroir or an appellation—you drink a winemaker.” A bottle tells the story of a piece of land, of course, but also of the people who cultivate it, the choices they make, and the way they approach wine.
This is how we build our selection, through encounters, visits, and tastings. It brings together great Burgundy estates, young winemakers whose early careers we enjoy following, and artisans who work with as much freedom and respect for living things as possible. It also takes us elsewhere, notably to the Jura, to winemakers whose sensibility moves us.
Behind every bottle lies a relationship built on trust. We purchase our wines directly from the estates, then store them in our cellar under optimal temperature and humidity conditions. In the shop, we take the time to share their stories with you and help you find the perfect wine—the one that matches your mood, complements your meal, or simply satisfies your curiosity. Sometimes the best bottle is the one you didn’t even come looking for.

The faces of Mes Bourgognes
For more than fifteen years, Frédéric, Fanny, and Guillaume have forged strong bonds around a shared passion: artisanal and signature wines, and the men and women who bring them to life.
Frédéric Henry
Frédéric Henry was the driving force behind this wine cellar and its philosophy. A sommelier by trade, he knew the Burgundy estates intimately, but never limited himself to an appellation’s reputation. What interested him most was the person behind the wine: their journey, their convictions, and their approach to their craft.
Frédéric had character, a sense of humor, and a rare talent for sharing his passion. He could talk about a winemaker for an hour, open an unexpected bottle, and send you on your way with a desire to discover an entire region in a whole new light. Many wine lovers – Guillaume foremost among them – owe their most memorable encounters with wine to him.
He passed away in 2024, leaving a huge void. He also left behind strong bonds with the winemakers, customers, and friends of the wine cellar. Every time we take the time to tell the story behind a bottle, something of what he taught us lives on.

Fanny Henry
Fanny has known this wine shop since its inception: she built it with Frédéric, who stood by her side for nearly twenty years. Trained in the hospitality and restaurant industries, she has cultivated over the years a deep knowledge of wines and wineries, as well as a unique sense of hospitality all her own.
Today, Fanny runs the shop on a day-to-day basis. She knows the winemakers, keeps track of new arrivals, looks after the bottles, and welcomes both regulars and passing visitors alike. She listens first, asks the right questions, and then suggests a wine you might not have thought of. Even when a highly sought-after vintage is out of stock, she knows how to point you in another direction with tact and curiosity.
Fanny carries on the legacy of Mes Bourgognes in her own way: with the same high standards in selection and a warmth that makes you want to come back, whether for a bottle or just for a chat.

Guillaume Laroche
Guillaume arrived in Burgundy five years ago, after falling in love with its wines, its landscapes, and the people who bring them to life. A lover of country walks and long conversations over a glass of wine, he enjoys taking the time to listen to winemakers, understand their work, and share their passion.
As the author of Entre les Vignes, he owes much of his wine education to Frédéric, who taught him to look beyond appellations and accompanied him on his first visits to wineries. Today, Guillaume curates the Mes Bourgognes selection alongside Fanny. He stays in touch with winemakers, discovers new talent, and handles the winery’s communications.
His joy has remained the same since his first visit to Rue d’Alsace: finding a bottle that tells a story about someone, and then inspiring others to, in turn, discover the wine and the person behind it.
As the author of Entre les Vignes, he owes much of his wine education to Frédéric, who taught him to look beyond appellations and accompanied him on his first visits to wineries.
