Le Grappin

Le Grappin

Vision, vitality, pleasure

Andrew Nielsen is a traveler. For five years, this Australian with an infectious smile travels the world to taste the greatest Pinot Noirs. From California to Burgundy, via the Yarra Valley, he honed his palate and his knowledge. It was at Simon Bize's winery, in particular, that he cut his teeth before finally settling down with his wife, Emma, in 2011. The couple got their hands on a winery in the heart of Beaune and set off.

"Our vision for Le Grappin is to seek out special sites in the most neglected and least appreciated regions of Burgundy. We look for winemakers who maintain their vineyards throughout the year with exceptional care and attention, to give the grapes the best chance to shine. Our job is to ensure that the wine reaches its true potential, working by hand, with small batches, giving each wine as much care and attention as our winemakers have given their vines."

Haute couture, as we like to call those who take as much care in selecting the grapes as they do in making the wine. But that's what we're talking about today with Andrew and Emma.

"Our Du Grappin wines are a natural extension of Le Grappin wines; thirst-quenching wines, made to be delicious, fun and refreshing. We source our grapes from passionate, groundbreaking winemakers in the little-known regions of the Mâconnais, Beaujolais and Rhône. We hand-make them in our Beaune winery with as much care and attention as we do our Le Grappin wines."

The result has really thrilled us on every level. The wines are lively, deep and uniquely personal. Authentic wines that can be enjoyed for pleasure, and which have naturally met with great success in the places where wine-drinkers gather, particularly those in the capital. They are tasted at all the finest restaurants: Septime, Le Châteaubriand, L'Astrance, Massale, Le Barav, Jones and L'Arpège!
