Vincent Dureuil-Janthial

Vincent Dureuil-Janthial

After being considered a young up-and-coming winemaker in the early 2010s, Vincent Dureuil has rapidly become a household name in the new great Burgundy.

Today, its status has been further enhanced by the Revue Du Vin de France's award of Vigneron de l'année 2019: "Pushing open the door of Domaine Dureuil-Janthial is the certainty of being dazzled by a facet of Burgundy often considered more modest.

Indeed, we agree with this observation, and have been repeating it for years to attentive ears. This title is well-deserved, and frankly comes as no surprise. In a Burgundy region that is highly sought-after in every corner of the globe, and where the quantity of bottles produced each year is unfortunately too great to satisfy the world's too many wine-lovers, the Côte Chalonnaise was like a well-preserved secret that insiders discreetly exchanged.

Unfortunately, the limelight has had its effect, and wines from this region, starting with Vincent's, are now being snapped up just as much as those from the Côte de Beaune. It has to be said that the winemaker has succeeded in raising his wines to an impressive level.

"For us, the wines are first made in the vineyard", Vincent likes to point out. "We use the lunar calendar for all our work. When it's time to harvest, we don't hesitate to take the risk of picking late. The aim is to fully ripen the grapes to obtain wines that are taut and delicious, with good minerality and acidity.

Minerality, balance, words that speak to lovers of great Burgundy whites. Today, his Rully wines regularly challenge the crus of the prestigious neighboring Côtes and frequently come out on top in blind tastings. His superb 2022s will be no exception.

All Vincent Dureuil wines are limited to 1-3 bottles per person and a maximum of 6 bottles from the estate.
