A smile, a voice, a kindness, a talent and the wines to match.
Based in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Jean-Marie Berrux is one of those winegrowers whose career intrigues as much as it inspires. A former audiovisual professional who converted to winegrowing in the early 2000s, he embodies a generation of neo-winemakers for whom wine is above all a personal, almost philosophical commitment.
Since the creation of his domaine Le Petit Têtu, Jean-Marie has been cultivating a few hectares biodynamically, paying particular attention to soil vitality and respect for natural balances. There's no fuss here: the work is done in the vineyard, by hand, with humility. In the cellar, the same approach: indigenous yeasts, no unnecessary inputs, little or no sulfur, and above all, time. His long-aged wines find their rhythm far from uniform standards.
In his cuvées, we find a pure, vibrant expression of Chardonnay, taut, saline, always precise. This is Burgundy without artifice, sincere, inhabited - just like the man who makes it. Whether with his "Petit Têtu" or other more confidential micro-cuvées, Jean-Marie Berrux reminds us that Burgundy can be bold, free and profoundly alive.
