Beauné Aline

Beauné Aline

A young, dedicated, determined, and talented winemaker who has taken over the family estate and its beautiful vineyards in Montagny—we’d go there in a heartbeat!

Aline Beauné’s talent is evident from the very first sip. Her style is clean, precise, and lively - never trying to overdo it, yet always hitting the mark. Based in Buxy, in the Côte Chalonnaise, she has taken over the family estate in 2022 with true technical mastery (chemistry, oenology, and a stint at Château de la Crée) and, above all, a very clear vision: to let the terroirs speak for themselves.

In the vineyard, the focus is on transitioning to organic farming (conversion underway since 2024), with minimal inputs and constant attention to the vines. Nothing is rushed; everything is nurtured. The goal is simple: to produce balanced grapes capable of best expressing the nuances of the Montagny plots.

In the cellar, the same logic applies. Winemaking remains clean, precise, and unpretentious. Aging is designed to support the wine, not to dominate it, using a mix of tanks, Burgundian barrels, and large oak casks. The wines are clear, taut, with depth but above all, a lot of energy.

And you can feel it immediately. The whites are luminous, with real mineral tension, precision, and formidable drinkability. The Aligotés are sharp, while the Montagny wines gain in finesse and length. These are the kinds of wines that move forward steadily, quietly, yet with great personality.

The estate’s signature wine, “Reconnaissance,” perfectly encapsulates this approach. Debuting with the 2022 vintage, it comes from a vineyard located in the heart of the village, right next to her grandmother’s house, “where it all began.” It is a tribute wine, deeply rooted in family history. The vines, approximately 35 years old, are aged 100% in a large oak cask—an Alsatian cask chosen by Aline herself, whose volume corresponds exactly to the plot’s yield. A choice that is both technical and symbolic. In the glass, it reveals a very delicate nose, with citrus and mineral notes, followed by a long, energetic palate with an almost stony texture. A straightforward, sincere wine, deeply connected to its origins.

And if external confirmation is needed, the RVF got it right by naming it “Discovery of the Year.” In short, the Côte Châlonnaise continues to make strides. And with such powerful driving forces as Vincent Dureuil and Aubert de Villaine at the helm, there is no doubt that southern Burgundy is earning its well-deserved reputation.
