Clos Luern

Clos Luern

New estate at Mes Bourgognes with the entry of Clos Luern from the beautiful Auvergne;

After introducing you to François Dhumes, Domaine de l'Arbre Blanc, Jean Maupertuis and Mito Inoue, we continue our exploration of the region with Clos Luern. A family-run micro-domain located near Corent (not far from a certain Benoit Rosenberger) on 3 small hectares, Arnaud Dupouyet and his family have decided to leave nothing to chance. Their aim: to produce precise, delicate wines that are flawless and fully express their terroir;

"The creation of top-of-the-range wines using modern, precise vinification without any inputs is only possible if the terroir gives us grapes of optimum quality. Here, the selection of parcels is drastic in order to process only the best of these Gamay plots, some of which are hundreds of years old;

We were won over by the sincerity of the approach and the quality of the wines we tasted. We present 2 cuvées, one red and one white;

Tigerno is the estate's flagship cuvée, a precise, delicate signature wine from a century-old parcel of Auvergne gamays. Hand-harvested, drastically sorted grapes, cold vatting and, of course, spontaneous, natural fermentation. Vinification without any inputs, then aged in 160-liter terracotta amphorae for 8 months. A profound wine that aptly expresses this beautiful Auvergne terroir;

Aurore is a beautiful Chardonnay planted on a basalt flow 4 years ago. It's a young vine with impressive potential;

    Tigerno est la cuvée phare du domaine, vrai vin signature précis et délicat issue d'une parcelle centenaire de gamays d'Auvergne. Vendanges manuelles, tri drastique des raisins, cuvaison à froid et, évidemment, fermentation spontanée et naturelle. Vinification sans aucun intrant puis élevage en amphores de terre cuite de 160 litres pendant 8 mois. Un vin profond qui exprime avec justesse ce beau terroir auvergnat.
