Aurélien Verdet

Aurélien Verdet

Assumed discretion, undeniable talent!

To begin with, Aurélien Verdet has been trained well. It's a phrase that's often overused, but for him, it's a very valuable one. His father, Alain Verdet, was a true pioneer of organic viticulture in the early 70s, so the man was considered a UFO in Burgundy. In his youth, Aurélien's main passion was motocross, but he slowly came to the vineyard. At first, he worked for the highly skilled David Duband (alongside our friend Arnaud Lopez, by the way), before taking over from his father in 2005;

Aurélien Verdet, who lives in Arcenant, in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, is a hard-working winegrower of conviction. No organic label (he doesn't like labels), but his vines are perfectly pampered. In the cellar, the same spirit prevails: indigenous yeasts, little manipulation, respect for the juices and very sparing use of sulfur. Today, Aurélien's wines are highly sought-after, especially beyond our borders, and it is with sincere pleasure that we welcome him to our selection.

For this first meeting, we present 4 cuvées: Hautes Côtes de Nuits white and red, Côtes de Nuits Villages La Prétière and Fixin, all from the 2022 vintage. These are precise wines, built on elegance and tension rather than opulence. A real nice surprise.
