Julien Crinquand

Julien Crinquand, from young Jura talent to confirmed pillar of the new generation.

Julien Crinquand and wine are a story of family, friends, transmissions and twists and turns. One thing's for sure: he fell into the Ploussard cooking pot at a very young age! He inherited his 5 hectares of vines from his father and grandfather, winegrowers in Arbois. But originally, he was destined for a completely different life, perhaps because he had seen his elders toil in the vineyard and not always receive the recognition they deserved. But life being what it is, he decided to return to his Jura origins and get back in touch with his winegrowing roots. This led to a career change, a vocational training certificate in winemaking and, above all, a meeting with two of the region's masters of thought (and wine-making): Fabrice Dodane and Philippe Bornard.

This duo, while thrilling all restaurant owners who realize the moment they cross the threshold that their cellar is about to take a major hit, is also an incredible well of science for any young winemaker thirsty for advice (and festive experiences, eventually). Fabrice especially takes him under his wing, passing on to him the values, methods and principles needed to make natural wines of the highest quality.

In 2019, Julien Crinquand took off on his own, setting up cellar in Les Arsures and producing wines of the highest quality. Both whites and reds are of rare finesse, yet immediate and extremely festive (an essential characteristic of Jura wines). This is the first time we've offered you these wines, and we're delighted! Before welcoming the whites in a few weeks' time, here are two very fine reds: Ploussard "Le coup de Plou" 2023 and Trousseau "P'tit Prince" 2023.
