Amiot Pierre

Young generation and beautiful terroirs

Domaine Pierre Amiot has been part of Burgundy's heritage for several generations, and has always been able to renew itself and progress, enabling its wines to remain among the elite. Cultivation practices have progressed considerably in recent years, enabling the domaine to offer a clear and precise understanding of the exceptional terroirs they cultivate.

For 5 generations, the Amiot family has nurtured tradition and excellence in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis. Didier and Jean-Louis have made great strides in developing cultivation practices, which today respect the principles of sustainable viticulture: ploughing the soil, fertilizing with compost over a three-year cycle, limited and well-reasoned treatments.

"Our concern is to control vigor and plant health in order to obtain beautiful grapes at the right stage of ripeness to produce the best wines.

In the cellar, the two brothers work with the same precautions: fermentation with indigenous yeasts, gentle and slow extraction by cold maceration, and alternating punching down and pumping over. As for ageing (15 to 18 months), new barrels account for 30%, and racking and bottling are carried out according to lunar cycles to guarantee optimum limpidity. Nothing is left to chance to reach the highest level.

The result is a classic Côte de Nuits wine of great elegance. On the nose, we find wonderful black and red berries. On the palate, the wines are precise, structured and offer just the right balance between strength and finesse. Every year, Didier and Jean-Louis produce great vintages that are at the very top of their appellations. Above all, these wines are made to keep! In 10 or 20 years' time, the premier crus of Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, like the majestic Clos de la Roche grand cru, will have gained in thickness and depth, enchanting your taste buds.
