La Pâturie - Julia et Thomas Joyandet

La Pâturie - Julia et Thomas Joyandet

A committed family estate, rooted in Champlitte, on the edge of Burgundy, producing authentic wines with a distinct identity.

The Domaine de la Pâturie is first and foremost a story of terroir. We are in Champlitte, a remarkable village in Haute-Saône, in Franche-Comté, on the natural border between Champagne and Burgundy. An area that has long remained out of the spotlight, but which has never ceased to be a land of winegrowers. Here, we are indeed in Burgundy, on transitional terroirs, shaped by clay-limestone and marl soils, with varied exposures, capable of producing sincere, straightforward wines that are deeply marked by their origin.

Today, the estate is run by Julia and Thomas Joyandet, committed winemakers who are deeply attached to their region. Their approach is part of a local, family-based takeover, designed for the long term, with a genuine desire to respect what already exists rather than reinventing everything. Under their leadership, the vines have been cultivated organically since 2018, with certification obtained in 2024, as a logical step in a process that has been underway since the beginning.

Their ambition is clear: to create wines with identity, faithful to their place of birth. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir... grape varieties cultivated with respect, vinified in stainless steel, wood, or concrete, depending on the needs of the vintages and vintages, always with indigenous yeasts, to let the grapes speak for themselves and reveal the soul of the Chanitois terroir, without artifice.

Here, the terroir is preserved, rich in a winemaking history passed down through generations. Julia and Thomas continue this tradition with humility and high standards, seeking accuracy rather than showmanship, balance rather than demonstration. You can feel this desire to do things right at every stage, from the vineyard to the cellar, with a consistent and patient vision.

And then there's the name. La Pâturie. Legend has it that this place was not only a passageway for the wolves of the region, but a true land of welcome, populated by stories and mysteries. A toponym that says a lot about the depth of the place, its age, and the intimate connection between the land and those who work it.

At Mes Bourgognes, we are particularly sensitive to projects like this: family estates, deeply rooted, driven by a clear vision and genuine sincerity. Domaine de la Pâturie is a fine example of this, and a place we are very happy to introduce to you.
