Les Lavières takes its name from the lava in its subsoil, which is covered with very stony brown earth. Very fragrant at first, this premier cru remains so as it ages, which is typical of this appellation. It produces a tender, elegant, and pleasant wine in its youth, due to its finesse. It releases numerous aromas of red fruit and violet very early on. It remains very intense as it ages. With age, it develops a terroir flavor reminiscent of flint or smoke. It can be stored for around fifteen years without any problem.

Les Hauts-Jarrons (Jarrons meaning tree branches) are located on the hillside below Mont Battois, towards Beaune. Their soil is deep and sandy, similar to that of Beaune-Bressandes. The wines are similarly closer to those of Beaune than those of Savigny. They have lovely aromas but require a few years to reach their full potential and are suitable for long aging.

60% whole-cluster harvest. Vinification for 19 days in tanks. Two gentle punch-downs. Aged in barrels that have seen 2 to 4 vintages. Bottled in May. No added sulfites (or other additives) from harvest to bottling. Followed by several months of aging in the bottle. The whole-cluster process is executed with precision, allowing the juice to develop an intoxicating energy. Superb.

As the only Village appellation that can be produced in all three red wine categories, its character is typical of the wines of the Côte de Nuits, with a style similar to that of neighboring appellations such as Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin. While the presence of vineyards has been documented since the 7th century—as is the case throughout the Côte—the prestige of this vineyard has been recognized for a very long time. The Abbey of Bèze, the Bishopric of Autun, the Dukes of Burgundy, and many others owned vineyards in this village.

This wine is a blend from several vineyards: "Le Pavé," "Aux Communes," and "Au-dessus de la Rivière." Almost heavenly, the Vosne-Romanée appellation—established in 1936—and its crus offer the most sublime expressions of Pinot Noir. Nicknamed "the jewel of the Côte de Nuits," this appellation combines precision and finesse.

BULLES 2022 marks a new chapter in Jonathan Purcell’s journey. A sparkling wine crafted using the traditional method from a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Aligoté, and 10% Chenin Blanc. After 18 months of aging on the lees, this sparkling wine was disgorged in the summer of 2024, with no dosage and no added sulfites.

The result is remarkable. A top-tier sparkling wine, both complex and incredibly fresh, driven by a mouth-watering tension and an energy that immediately makes you want to come back for more. Notes of citrus, white fruit, and toast intertwine with remarkable precision, while the long, vibrant finish leaves an impression of rare purity.

Produced in collaboration with Grégory Parigot, this cuvée once again confirms Jonathan Purcell’s talent for creating wines that are as lively as they are unique. A delightful bottle, equally at home as an aperitif or with a meal, and one that is likely to disappear very quickly from enthusiasts’ cellars.
